ABE SPIRIT WEAR SALE The annual ABE Spirit Wear sale will run September 14-29 and is an ONLINE SALE ONLY. https://shop.distinctimages.net/AmyBeverland • The samples are on display in the front office • Purchased items will be delivered to students’ classrooms on October 15

DINE-TO-DONATE ABE’s Dine-to-Donate events are a simple way to enjoy family, classmates, and give back to our school. Last year our Dine-to-Donate events gave $3,300 back to ABE to be used toward our students and classrooms! So far this year, we’ve enjoyed Dine to Donate events at Sundae’s and The Roller Cave! Thank you to all our Star Families who could join us. • Please join us Tuesday, September 24 for our next Dine-to-Donate event! Kona Ice will be in the ABE Parking lot from 3:00 - 8:00 PM

BOX TOPS The Box Tops program has gone digital! Download the Box Tops for Education app and register! Scan in your receipt after shopping and the app will show you several products that will earn Box Top money for ABE. This program usually earns us anywhere from $1,000 - $3,000 free and clear! See the attached flier for more information on the new Box Tops app. You can also ask family members to download the app to use it as well, even if they live in other states! Thank you for your support!

FUNDRAISING DURING THE 2019-2020 SCHOOL YEAR We know fundraising is one of the least fun things the ABFA must do! We strive to be intentional on what we are asking of our families, and we always want to be transparent on what we do. This year, the ABFA will have 3 primary fundraisers: • The first will be new to our school, and is through Yankee Candle Co. It is a traditional Catalogue-based sale that will have on-line website component as well. Catalogues will go home the week of October 19th! With our “untraditional” Fall Fest this year, we were looking to supplement our fundraising needs this year! • The second is a twist on our usual Fall Fest! We will hold Fall Fest on Tuesday, November 19, at Incrediplex. We will also have our annual Silent Auction that night!
• Finally, on February 20 and 21 we will hold our indoor Glow Run fundraiser.
We thank everyone for their continued support of our fundraising events every year and appreciate the flexibility our Star Families have shown during our big renovation!

VOLUNTEER BACKGROUND CHECK We encourage all families to complete the Volunteer Background Check! Please click the links below to complete the short document. English Spanish Every adult volunteer in our building, whether volunteering for Dads' Club, ABFA, the library, classroom parties, field trips, or interested in eating lunch in the school cafeteria must have a valid check done each school year.

LUNCH WITH YOUR STUDENTS This year, we have a few changes for families to take note of when coming in to eat with your Star Students! • No outside food can be taken into the café • If you do bring food from the outside in, you may sign your student out to enjoy a picnic outside, or take them off-site during their lunch time • You must have a valid background check on-file with the office to eat in the cafeteria with your student!

CLINIC NEWS 6th Grade students must have their 6th Grade shots turned into the clinic by October 7, or they will be excluded from school until proof of vaccines is provided to the clinic.

BOOK AND CIRRICULAR FEES Grade 1 $147.00, Grade 2 $179.00, Grade 3 $168.00, Grade 4 $145.00, Grade 5 $207.00, Grade 6 $171.00 You may pay by check, payable to Amy Beverland Elementary. We also accept Visa or MasterCard by phone or in the school office. Lifeskills Academic Fees are the same as the grade level fees. Payment is due on or before September 27. Please contact Mrs. Frisk in the front office with any questions.

ANONYMOUS BULLYING REPORTING Safety in all forms is our #1 priority at Amy Beverland Elementary. We want students and parents to Speak Out against bullying. Upon submission of this form, Mrs. Osborn and Mr. Pennington will receive a notification and thoroughly investigate the matter. Thank you for helping keep our school safe for all students!

REVIEW MESSAGES CELL PHONE USE Prior to stepping on school ground, all students should turn cell phones off and put them away in their backpacks. These may be powered on after stepping off school property. Parents, please be reminded that your cell phone calls should be completed prior to entering the front office. Thank you for your consideration.

ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL REMINDER If door #7 is closed at arrival time, you need to park your car and walk your student into the building. Your student is tardy if they arrive at 8:00 AM or after. • Remember to have a note from the doctor or dentist when arriving from an appointment. Please help us with dismissal. If you know your student is going to be picked up early for an appointment or you have changed their dismissal pickup in any way, please write a note to be given to the teacher upon arrival. If there is an emergency during the day and you need to change your child’s dismissal, you may do so if you call the front office by 1:45. • Please do NOT email teachers these requests during the day. They do NOT always have the time to check their email prior to dismissal. SKYWARD FAMILY ACCESS By logging into Skyward Family Access (SFA), you can access district links to Canvas and PayPams. You will also have access to your child’s report cards through SFA. Please contact our front office if you’d like to receive paper copies. • If you did not complete the RSVP process through SFA for this school year, please do so as soon as possible so we have the most updated information on file. • If you do not receive Mr. Pennington’s weekly messages via phone/email, please let our front office know this as well. BUS TRACKING APP Lawrence Township Transportation is working with My Stop to provide GPS tracking information for our buses and give families more exact information about their child’s bus arrival. My Stop can be utilized two different ways; via the My Stop website or via the app on your smartphone device.

NEW MSD OF LAWRENCE MOBILE APP Our school district has developed a new mobile app, MSD of Lawrence Mobile, and it is live in the Apple and Google App Stores! PFO Every parent at Belzer is automatically a member of the Belzer Parent-Faculty Organization (PFO). Parent volunteers play an important part in our school environment.
