Want to know what is going on in our classroom? The week of February 16, 2016 Math - We have finished up our unit on ratios and will be working on percents and problem-solving.  Students have a review packet to complete prior to Friday.  They received specific instructions on Tuesday.  There is a DMR quiz on Friday. Week of January 4, 2016 Reading - Achieve articles are now individually assigned according to student need.  All are due by Friday.  We continue to work on informational/non-fiction text and comprehension.  The new testing includes more rigorous questioning, requiring students to apply knowledge they receive from the reading.  Short written answers and providing evidence for answers are new skills for many.  Students should be reading for at least 30 minutes each evening at home to increase th...

Week of November 30, 2015 Reading - We continue to work on informational text and are practicing, practicing, practicing.  All students should be at 80% of reading goals for AR.  We continue to listen to book talks every day and will be finished with this round before break.  Students have a new vocabulary packet this week.  The test will be on Friday, December 11.
