Hello ABE Families,
We are less than one month away from the event that everyone looks forward to all year! Of course, we are talking about the annual students vs. staff basketball game. The date for this event will be the evening of March 26th and we will once again be returning to the LECC building (old Craig Middle School) on Sunnyside Rd.
For those of you unfamiliar with this event, you will not want to miss it. All ABE stars and their families are welcome and encouraged to attend. Some of the highlights of the evening include our 1st & 2nd grade stars who participated in the Dads' Club Basketball league being recognized, a free throw contest for the 3rd graders, a slam dunk show put on by Boomer from the Indiana Pacers, Pacers Fan Van on site with free giveaways, free pizza (while supplies last), and the highlight of the evening is our 4th, 5th, and 6th graders playing in a game vs. the staff of Amy Beverland. This game is for bragging rights and the staff squeaked out a win over the students last year, after a several year dynasty run by the students.
There will be 20 spots available to 3rd graders for the free throw contest. There will be 10 spots available for 4th grade girls, 10 spots available for 4th grade boys, 10 spots available for 5th grade girls, 10 spots available for 5th grade boys, 10 spots available for 6th grade girls, and 10 spots available for 6th grade boys.
On Monday, March 2nd around 8:00 a.m. an email will go out with instructions on how to sign your child up for one of these spots. THESE SPOTS FILL UP VERY QUICKLY AND ARE FIRST COME FIRST SERVED. Once the spots are filled, that's it. Due to the extremely tight timeline for this event we cannot accomodate any more players than the previously mentioned spots. Make sure to follow the instructions that will be mailed out and please do so as soon as you receive the email.
It's time for some March Madness, ABE Style!
